STATUS UPDATE
The City of Westmoreland Public Works department has been flushing water lines and hydrants all day today which is why you may have experienced low or no water pressure at some point. Currently, an emergency state approved chlorine booster is being installed at the Bransford pumping station. This will help carry better chlorine residuals to the water storage tanks in town, which will in turn distribute throughout the system to bring the water up to state required chlorine residual levels. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO CONTAMINATION OF THE SYSTEM. THE BOIL NOTICE IS SIMPLY A PRECAUTION. The City has been taking samples and sending them to the lab to monitor. The test results take 24 hours so some results will be in late tonight and others will be tomorrow. We continue to be under a boil advisory until the chlorine residual is restored to above state required minimum. There will be no further updates until tomorrow (Thursday, July 16) morning. Any updates will be posted on the City of Westmoreland facebook page, the City website (westmorelandtn.gov), on news stations 2,4,5 and 17 and on the front door of City Hall at 1001 Park Street, Westmoreland, TN.
