Reason for This Notice
The City of Westmoreland water system experienced a water main break, which caused chlorine residual levels to drop throughout the distribution system.
Potential Health Risk
When chlorine residual levels are too low, fecal contamination or other disease-causing organisms may enter the distribution system. These conditions may pose an imminent and substantial health risk to people served by the water system.

The City of Westmoreland experienced a water line break that caused chlorine residual levels in the distribution system to fall below the required level. The city is flushing water lines throughout the system to move fresh, treated water through the distribution network and restore proper chlorine levels.
