With support from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the Greater Nashville Regional Council, Sumner County, Westmoreland and other local municipalities, Sumner County has begun an Active Transportation Plan to develop recommendations for a connected and cohesive countywide bicycle and pedestrian network.
Building on previous planning efforts, this plan will set a vision for Sumner County’s future that connects neighborhoods, parks, schools, and commercial areas with scenic walkways and bikeways so that people of all ages can enjoy the freedom of mobility, improved access to natural areas, and healthier lifestyles.
